More Thoughts on Leadership and Vision
I have a guest-post at Slacker Manager entitled: More Thoughts on Leadership and Vision
Vision is closely tied to positive action and focus, but involves taking that positivity to the next level.
Between Where We Are and Where We Want to Be
Vision: A leader’s ideas and plans for an organization’s future. Idealistic in nature, a vision gives a sense of the differences between the present and future states of an organization. Visionary leaders are often noted for innovations within and organization or industry.A leader’s vision is extremely important because it gives people something to strive toward: a view beyond the present, into the future of the organization.

Visionary leaders - what a concept. I tend to believe that in order for an individual to even be a leader, he must be a visionary. I think the term “leader” and “leadership” is used too broadly. Maybe it’s time that we start calling organizational hierarchies “positions of power” and the people who occupy them “individuals within positions of power.” Then, we can truly start to understand whom is and is not a leader. We must redefine the very concept of a leader and leadership (even though this has been done time and time again). We’ll get there, eventually.
